IMPROV COMEDY GONE WILD!

The Comedy Hui is Maui's own group of crazy local comedians who deliver laughter to the extreme with professional improv comedy. The show is an interactive roller coaster ride of silly where the crowd co-creates the show with the cast! Similar to the show, "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" the cast creates musical numbers and scenes on the spot through a series of fast-paced games. Accompanied by a live band in one of Maui's most intimate theaters.

In an effort to educate Maui County women about the risk of heart disease, the American Heart Association is hosting Hawaii's First Annual Go Red For Women Luncheon presented by Macy's and Merck. The luncheon and health expo will be held Friday, November 12, 2010 at The Fairmont Kea Lani. Attendees are invited to attend a health expo featuring a cooking demonstration sponsored by the Maui County Farm Bureau and Maui Cattle Company, health screenings, mini spa treatments, and a silent auction from 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. Following the health expo, Maui's own Deidre Teagarden will emcee the heart healthy lunch and holiday inspired fashion show sponsored by Macy's from 11:30 - 1:00 p.m. Tickets are $100.00 per person and table sponsorships are available.

SOUNDING JOY MUSIC THERAPY PRESENTS DONNA STOERING

These one-of-a-kind performances will support Sounding Joy's mission to promote music therapy in Hawaii, enhancing public awareness of its benefits, increasing its accessibility, and advancing music therapy research. Musician Donna Stoering has been giving concerts since the age of five. A protégé of thelate Sir Georg Solti, she is a renowned pianist and singer, a Grammy Award nominee, Artistic Ambassador of the USA and Great Britain, Marshall Scholar, Artist in Residence to Oxford University, host and presenter of numerous television programs about music on the national networks of various countries, youngest-ever judge of international music competitions in Russia, Italy, Canada, and the UK, and the creator/producer of music programs now shown on the BBC and other networks. She is also the founder of Listen for Life, a global family of music listeners and performers who are working together to restore music as a unifying force and channel of communication worldwide. The event will be open to the public with a suggested donation of $10.

GET A JOB - MAUI MOVIE PREMIERE AND PARTY

It will be a Maui party and celebration of Nu'i - Nu'i proportions (Big-Big). On Sunday, November 28, at 6:00 P.M. the cast and crew of GET A JOB will be at the Castle Theatre for the Maui premiere of the homegrown feature film. This will be a one-night-only screening. In this hilarious film, William (Willie K) is a former musician and now successful employment agent. His own career is in jeopardy when over the course of a week; he repeatedly fails to find work for Merton (Eric Gilliom). MAUI CULTURAL LANDS, INC. - MALAMA HONOKOWAI
Date: January 1st 2010 through December 31st 2015, 9 am - 4 pm

In Honokowai Valley, restoration of an ancient farming archeological site has been ongoing, and, on Saturdays, dedicated volunteers venture deep into the realms of Honokowai for five hours of restorative work. alternativehawaii.com. Efforts include preserving cultural resources, stabilizing archeological sites and reforest the area using native Hawaiian plants. Volunteers meet at Puukoli'i Train Station in Lahaina, every Saturday, at 9 a.m. The day usually ends at 4 p.m. Bring lunch, water, sunscreen and insect repellent; wear a hat, protective clothing, and bring gloves if available; Be prepared to get dirty and enjoy the camaraderie. alternativehawaii.com. HUI NOEAU VISUAL ARTS CENTER
Place: 2841 Baldwin Avenue, Makawao (Upcountry)
A unique paradise for the arts awaits you at the Hui Noeau Visual Arts Center. They have art education programs for adults and children, art exhibits, and a gift shop, on an historic upcountry estate with magnificent grounds. Their mission is to encourage and promote the development of artistic expression and creativity in the individual and to stimulate a broader appreciation and understanding of the visual arts as a vital language in our culture. BAILEY HOUSE MUSEUM

STOP BY THE LAHAINA VISITOR CENTER
Date: 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. daily
Place: Historic Old Lahaina Courthouse at Banyan Tree Park, Lahaina
Staffed by community volunteers and managed by LahainaTown Action Committee, the Visitor Center's purpose is to provide free, friendly and unbiased information to visitors and others seeking cultural, historical or current knowledge about Lahaina and old LahainaTown. Call: (808) 667-9193.

HALEAKALA NATIONAL PARK
Date: Daily
Ongoing Ranger / Naturalist programs include guided walks, hikes, as well as programs on geology and natural and cultural history and 15 to 20 minute presentations. In the Summit area, special evening star watching programs are conducted periodically. Occasionally special all day and half day hikes, three day service trips, or full moon hikes are offered. ASTRONOMY TOUR OF THE STARS
Date: Nightly
Time: 8, 9 or 10 p.m. plus Fri. & Sat. at 11 p.m.
Place: Hyatt Regency Maui Resort & Spa, Kaanapali (West Maui)
A brilliant tour of the stars is given nightly on the roof for one hour. Astronomy-quality telescopes are set up for viewing pleasure by the star guide. Call: (808) 661-1234.

SUNSET CLIFF-DIVING
Date: Every evening
Place: Sheraton Maui, Kaanapali (West Maui)
The Sheraton Maui rests atop the famed black rock, Puu Kekaa, site of many Hawaiian legends. A torchlighting and cliff diving ceremony is enacted each evening right before sunset. The public can watch a young man in ancient Hawaiian garb light torches as he runs to the rock's summit. Perched at the top, he dives off the cliff into the calm waters surrounding the landmark. WHALERS VILLAGE ENTERTAINMENT
Place: Kaanapali Resort (West Maui)
Enjoy free entertainment and activities at Whalers Village Center Stage. On Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, watch Polynesian dances from 6:30 to 7 pm then Tahitian dances from 7:30 to 8 pm. Take a lei-making class on Tuesdays and Fridays from noon to 2 pm or take a hula lesson from 3 to 4 pm on Thursdays. Sundays feature Sunset Jazz from 6 to 9 pm. STORIED PLACES OF EAST MAUI

Place: Hana Cultural Center, Hana (East Maui)
East Maui is rich in mythological sites. Tales of Pele the volcano goddess, Maui the demi-god, Hina the moon goddess, Kamapuaa the rascal, pig god and many more who have walked the Hana district. Stories, photographs and artifacts. Call: (808) 248-8622.

EAST MAUI PLANTATION DAYS

An exhibition of photographs, artifacts and stories from the Hana District's agricultural past along with an examination of the impact and the multicultural influences of plantation culture on the East Maui. Call: (808) 248-8622.

45 TON TALKS
Date: December-April every Tues.& Thurs.; May-November only on Tues.

Place: Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale NMS, 726 South Kihei Road, Kihei
This free one hour "talk story" will highlight everything you want to know about humpback whales. Join Sanctuary volunteers and staff for an interactive fun-filled presentation perfect for all ages. Call: (808) 879-2818.

FRIDAY NIGHT IS ART NIGHT

Stroll through dozens of art galleries in Lahaina Town for special gallery shows, featured artists-in-action, and refreshments, all free and open to the public! HE UI CULTURAL ARTS FESTIVAL

THE MAUI PANIOLO DANCE ASSOCIATION

The Maui Paniolo Dance Association is dedicated to country dancing on Maui. They meet once a week, offering free lesson(s) at the beginning hour. Open dance is from 8-10 PM. $3 donation requested. PACIFIC WHALE FOUNDATION EVENTS

FREE WHALE AND OCEAN INFORMATION
Date: November 30 - May 15
Time: 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Place: McGregor Point Lookout - (Honoapiilani Hwy near Maalaea)
Where else can you pull off the highway and see whale baleen, whale lice and other interesting whale displays? Pacific Whale Foundation's (PWF) Ocean Outreach Van is at this scenic lookout daily with interesting whale displays and free information about whales.
