7TH ANNUAL MAUI UKULELE FESTIVAL Date: Sunday, October 14th, 1:00 - 6:00 pm, 2012 Place: Maui Arts & Cultural Center - Kahului, Maui Contact: 808-242-2787 or 808-242-7469 box office, macc@mauiarts.org The annual Maui Ukulele Festival is a full afternoon of ukulele music at the first-class venue, the Maui Arts & Cultural Center. Bring your lawn chairs or roll out a blanket on the lawn and enjoy some of the islands’ favorite ukulele players. Since 2006, the Maui Ukulele Festival has featured Herb Ohta Sr. (Ohta-San), Jake Shimabukuro, Holunape, Raiatea Helm, Manoa DNA, Paula Fuga, Richard Ho'opi'i, Brittni Paiva, Kelly Boy Delima, Derek Sebastian and more, including local kupuna and keiki players! Ukulele door prizes, food booths, and more. Come and join us in laughter, love and hope! |

HALLOWEEN ON FRONT STREET Date: October 31st, 2012 Place: Front Street - Lahaina, Maui Contact: LahainaTown Action Committee, (808) 667-9175, web.request@visitlahaina.com Halloween festivities will begin on Front Street with the 34rd Annual Keiki Halloween Costume Parade at 4:30 that is sponsored by the Lahaina Rotary, Sunrise Rotary Club of Lahaina and the Soroptomist of West Maui. Halloween in Lahaina events are co-sponsored by the County of Maui and the Lahaina Town Action Committee (LAC). MAUI FRIDAY TOWN PARTIES Date: Every Friday, 2012 Place: First Friday of the month – Wailuku, Second Friday – Lāhainā, Third Friday – Makawao, Fourth Friday – Pāia, Maui Contact: Maui County Office of Economic Development, (808) 270-7710, economic.development@mauicounty.gov Maui Friday Town Parties is an initiative developed by the Maui County Office of Economic Development to showcase our island’s historic towns and celebrate the unique nature of their businesses communities. From Market Street to Front Street, from Baldwin Avenue to Hana Highway, most every Friday our community gathers to celebrate art, music and Maui culture. Residents and visitors enjoy a special night of interaction and fun, punctuated with free entertainment, special offerings and Friday-only promotions from each town’s family of merchants. Maui Friday Town Parties are a safe, fun community-minded way for both residents and visitors to kickoff the weekend under the stars and enjoy our small-town ambiance. Many retailers, galleries and boutiques operate extended hours and highlight special promotions. Crafters, artisans and culinary wizards add their creativity to the event. Attendees have fun while simultaneously supporting our economy and revitalizing historic Maui. |
