3RD ANNUAL QUILT SHOW AND EXHIBIT Date: Saturday, April 14th, 10:00am - 3:00pm, 2012 Place: Bailey House Museum, 2375-A Main Street, Wailuku, Maui Contact: Nicole McMullen, (808) 244-3326, baileyhousemuseum@clearwire.net The Bailey House Museum gardens will be a rainbow of color on for the 3rd annual “Celebration of Quilts” Quilt Show and Exhibit. Local quilters from across Maui will hang their quilts throughout the gardens and demonstrate quilting methods to visitors at this popular one-day event. Antique quilts from the Maui Historical Society and private collections will be exhibited in the Bailey House Museum. Admission to the Quilt Show includes admission to the museum and is $10 for adults. Children 12 and under are free. |

After a couple of line-up changes, The Shins scored hits from their debut album Oh, Inverted World, including “New Slang,” “Know Your Onion!” and “The Past and Pending.” The band relocated to Portland, Oregon in 2001 then released Chutes Too Narrow in 2003 and Wincing the Night Away in 2007, which was nominated for a Grammy Award. The Shins’ current release is Port of Morrow, featuring an all-new band comprised of Mercer, Jessica Dobson, Richard Swift, Joe Plummer and Yuuki Matthews. "Simple Song" is their latest hit single. MAUI 5K Date: Sunday, April 22nd, 7am, 2012 Place: Ma’alaea Triangle located at 300 Ma’alaea Rd., Wailuku, Maui Contact: 1-888-219-6567 ext. 2, info@maui5k.org The Maui 5K is an event to help promote health and fitness for Maui County’s children as well as their families to create a more active and healthy lifestyle. A minimum of $15.00 per registered participant will be distributed back to the schools based on each individual school’s participation and will be used to help enhance or improve the physical fitness, play and athletic programs within the schools. The event relies on donations from local businesses and support from volunteers to make this event a success! There will be a ChampionChip/MyLaps timed 5K race and a fun, untimed 1 Mile Run/Walk for Keiki and adults. |

MAUI STAGE RACE Date: Saturday - Sunday, April 28th to April 29th, 6:00am, 2012 Place: Through the hills of beautiful Kula and Keokea, Maui Contact: Bill Darrah (Race Director), mauistagerace@gmail.com The Maui Stage Race is a 3 event race. It all starts with a 25K Time Trial on Saturday morning April 28th. Then onto a 60 minute Criterium later that same day. Then Sunday morning it will finish with a 50 mile road race through the hills of beautiful Kula and Keokea Maui. There will be a post-event function and awards ceremony. Participation in all 3 events is encouraged, but not required. Highest scoring riders will win cash prizes and awards. Overall cumulative points will determine the winner in each category. |
