2012 SANCTUARY OCEAN COUNT
Date: The last Saturday of January through March (peak whale season), January 28th, February 25th, and March 31st, 8:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m, 2012
Place: The shores of O`ahu - O`ahu Site Descriptions, Hawai`i (Big Island) - Hawai`i Site Descriptions and Kaua`i - Kaua`i Site Descriptions

The Sanctuary Ocean Count project offers the community a chance to monitor humpback whales from the shores of O`ahu, Hawai`i and Kaua`i. Not only has this proven to be a fun volunteer activity for residents and visitors, but it also helps to provide important population and distribution information on humpback whales around the Hawaiian Islands. Both site leaders and general volunteers are needed for all islands. Of course, the count cannot be done without the help of enthusiastic volunteers - we hope you'll consider taking part in this fun opportunity.

	DOGGIE WALK TO SAVE LIVES Date: January 21st, 11 am - 1 pm, 2012 Place: Kapaa, Oahu Contact: Alison Neustein, (808) 246-9577, alison@malama-pono.org 1st Annual Doggie Walk to Save lives on Kauai! Enjoy an afternoon on the bike path with friends & support 2 of Kauai's life saving agencies! 2 Mile or 1 mile walk. Free ot dogs & refreshments for lunch! Fun for the whole family! Prizes for top fundraisers! Registration is just $25.00 per walker. Raise money! Have Fun! Get walkin!
